Terms of Use

Naturalize for iPhone and naturalize.ozar.io · Effective October 16, 2026

The most important part: Naturalize is a calculator and record-keeper. It isn't legal advice, it isn't affiliated with USCIS, and it can't tell you whether you're eligible to naturalize.

The agreement

These terms apply to the Naturalize iPhone app (“the app”) and this website. “Naturalize”, “we” and “us” mean the developer of the app. By downloading or using the app, or using this website, you agree to these terms.

The app is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”). These terms add to the Apple EULA. If the two conflict on your license to use the app, the Apple EULA wins.

Not legal advice

Naturalize helps you keep a record of your time outside the United States and shows how the published rules apply to the dates you enter. It doesn't give legal advice, and using it doesn't create an attorney–client relationship with anyone.

  • Naturalize isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) or any government agency.
  • The filing date it shows is an estimate. It isn't a promise that USCIS will accept, approve or schedule your application.
  • Naturalize can't assess requirements it doesn't track, such as good moral character, English and civics, or whether you've rebutted a presumption that your continuous residence was broken.
  • You're responsible for everything you submit to USCIS. Before you file, check the official instructions at uscis.gov, and consider speaking with an immigration attorney or a DOJ-accredited representative, especially if you have a trip of six months or more.

How results work

Every result is calculated from the information you enter, using the rules as Naturalize reads them on the review date shown in the app (Settings › About). That means:

  • If a date you enter is wrong, the result will be wrong. Check your dates against passport stamps, boarding passes or your I-94 travel history from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
  • USCIS policy, Form N-400 and its instructions can change. Naturalize updates its rules only through app updates, so keep the app up to date and pay attention if it tells you its rules are getting old.
  • Where the rules are unclear, Naturalize takes the more conservative reading and says so. Your own situation may be treated differently.

Your record

Your record is stored only on your iPhone (see the Privacy Policy). We never have a copy, so we can't recover it if it's lost. You're responsible for keeping backups, either through your iPhone's own backups or by exporting a backup file from the app.

Purchases

Naturalize is free to download. Some features are available through an optional one-time in-app purchase. It isn't a subscription and doesn't renew.

  • Purchases are made through Apple and are subject to Apple's terms. Prices may vary by country and include any taxes Apple applies.
  • Purchases are shared with your Family Sharing group.
  • To get it back after reinstalling or on a new iPhone, use Restore Purchase in Settings with the same Apple Account.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple. You can ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Using Naturalize

Use Naturalize for your own lawful, personal purposes. Please don't copy, modify, resell or redistribute the app; try to get around its purchase checks; or reverse engineer it except where the law allows you to. What you create with it, such as your PDFs, lists and trip plans, is yours.

Ownership

The app, its design, its icon, this website and their content belong to us and are protected by copyright and other laws. Form N-400 and the USCIS Policy Manual are public government documents; Naturalize quotes and cites them but doesn't claim them as its own.

Updates and availability

We may update the app to fix problems, reflect rule changes or improve it, and features may change over time. We may also stop offering the app. If that happens, the copy on your iPhone will keep working with the data you have, but its rules will no longer be updated.

No warranty

We work hard to make Naturalize accurate, and it's tested against the published rules. Even so, to the fullest extent the law allows, the app and this website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that the app will be error-free or that its results will match a USCIS decision.

Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from decisions you make based on the app, including travel plans, filing dates, application fees, or a delayed or denied application.

Our total liability for any claim related to the app or this website is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim.

Some places don't allow these exclusions or limits, so some of them may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.

Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content, has no obligation to provide support for it, and isn't responsible for any claims relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we'll also mention it in the app's release notes. Continuing to use Naturalize after a change means you accept the new terms.
